Bulldog Chain Link Gate Hinges are used in heavy duty and commercial fencing. Each Bulldog Hinge is rigid in nature and capable of holding large and oversized gates.

How does a bulldog hinge work on a chain link fence gate?
Bull dog hinges mount directly to gate posts, with one hinge sitting level/on top of the ground or grade, with the other hinge(s) mounted at the top and sometimes middle of the post. The hinges are secured to the post via the U-bolt included with them. The teeth of the hinge bite into the post by tightening the U-bolt. Once the hinges are mounted on the post the back portion of the top hinge is removed, to allow the gate frame to sit against the hinge. Re-secure the back of the bulldog hinge with the gate frame now sitting inside *NOTE, there will be loose play on the top hinge as it acts as simply a guide. The weight of the gate will sit on top of the bottom hinge, dispersing the weight into the ground *NOTE the gate will need to have a 1" or 2" extension in order to slide into the top of the hinge (a bottom ball can be driven into the vertical gate member if the gate has no extension).
