Bottom Ball is a Chain Link Gate fitting that works with a Bull-Dog Hinge. Bottom balls slide into the vertical member of a round pipe chain link gate, creating a 2inch extension that is then slid into the bottom Bull Dog Hinge. A Bottom Ball extends the life of a Chain Link Gate because of its thick cast iron malleable construction and rigid hot dip galvanized coating.
The ball would work better if it had been put on when the gate was first hung. If the gate is not level it didn't fit the bulldog hinge very well. Not the ball's fault. It went in easy and like I said, if the gate was level it would work better.
